Natalia Putilovskaya: 100,000 Participants Registered for the Events of the XII St. Petersburg International Educational Forum

The opening of the XII St. Petersburg International Educational Forum was held on March 21. The ceremony was broadcast on the Forum website at 12:00.

Over the years, the event has become a remarkable and inspiring event not only for the city, but also for the whole country. During the forum, St. Petersburg becomes the centre of attraction for the entire educational community. The participants are prominent figures in education, scientists, practitioners, managers of various educational institutions. Traditionally, the most pressing issues of education, prospects and development trends are addressed here. The forum is a place for communication and exchange of experience.

Today, St. Petersburg education system comprises more than 500,000 students and 100,000 teachers from 746 schools, 1,204 kindergartens, 116 vocational education institutions. Educational results: 2,783 medalist graduates, 13 gold and silver medalists in international Olympiads, an award for the second place among Russian regions in the National Technology Initiative (NTI) Olympiad, 22 Abilimpics medalists and 62 medalists in the Young Professionals (Worldskills Russia) Championship.

Natalia Putilovskaya, Chair of St. Petersburg Education Committee, stressed that it is the 12th time that the Forum is held: "The status of the international educational forum is confirmed by numerous notes of congratulation and video messages sent by our foreign colleagues and partners. For example, we received video messages from the representatives of the Republic of Srpska, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea. Moreover, a large delegation of teachers from the Republic of Belarus participates in the Forum offline. Many teachers from neighboring countries take part in the events of our forum. In addition, we see an increased number of stakeholders among teaching staff from almost all regions of the Russian Federation who have already announced their participation in the events of the St. Petersburg International Educational Forum."

The speaker said that the new format combining offline and online events allowed to increase the number of participants tenfold. "In 2022, we can affirm that more than 100,000 people have applied to participate in conferences, seminars, round tables, workshops, strategic sessions, lectures. Of course, a detailed activities plan is being implemented within the framework of the international educational forum: these are 320 events and more than 650 different institutions, which are the organisers and co-organisers of these events, that are not only from St. Petersburg, but also from other regions of Russia and foreign countries as well as our social partners from the cultural sector, science, youth policy, physical culture and sports."

This year's Forum focuses on completely different pedagogical topics that concern teachers, issues related to information educational technologies and the quality of education, management in the education system and educational work, supplementary education and innovative activities implemented by educational institutions.
