Participants of the Vasileostrovskie TED-Readings contest will share their view on science in real life, dialogue between generations, digitalisation and media popularity

On March 28 within the programme of the XII St. Petersburg International Educational Forum the participants of the socially oriented contest "Vasileostrovskie TED-Readings. New Format" will present the outcomes of their research. Everyone will be able to see dynamic and moving performances of the participants – students studying at educational institutions of the district.

The jury will determine the winners, laureates and diploma holders in five nominations. Research project topics:

• Make Our City Better: Social Initiatives;
• Academic Knowledge for Real Life;
• Dialogue between Generations. Will We Keep It or Lose It?;
• Pros and Cons of Digitalisation;
• Pros and Cons of Media Popularity.

The second stage is held offline. At the first stage the projects were evaluated
by means of video presentations.

30 teams from educational institutions of the Vasileostrovsky district took part in the competition. There should be a mentor in every team. Moreover, teachers, students (9-11 grades) and parents can act as mentors or be mentored.

Vasileostrovskie Readings have been held in the Vasileostrovsky District of St. Petersburg since 2001. The aim of the contest is to involve students and teachers in socially significant research activities, revealing their creative and research potential. This year contest focuses on mentorship and its effective forms in the school education system.
