Contributing to the Technological Independence of the Country: Potential of Lifelong Science Learning

The conference is devoted to the discussion of modern trends in life-long science learning in independent Russia. The conference includes a plenary session and 5 breakout sessions, which will be held offline and online. The conference events will address the current objectives of science education, from starting school to entering the workforce; modern research areas of basic, supplementary, and higher education in the field of natural sciences, medicine; and the role of science education in the socio-economic development of the country. Educational institution representatives, teachers of chemistry and biology, will present the best educational practices and their projects. The event will be held in a flipped conference format, which will promote knowledge exchange between the participants. Breakout sessions will take place first, where the participants will discuss the current issues; at 15:00, a round table discussion will be held (offline), and part of the discussion will be conducted via the Chemistry-Biology-Medicine cluster Telegram channel. The issues will be addressed by scientists from the St. Petersburg State Chemical Pharmaceutical University, St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education named after K.D Ushinky, representatives of the leading chemical, pharmaceutical, medical enterprises and universities of St. Petersburg, principals, teachers, and partners of the Chemistry-Biology-Medicine cluster. The participants will also take part in the plenary session, along with representatives of the Centre for Advanced Professional Training, St. Petersburg Academy of Talents, and supplementary education teachers.
